Attainable Housing That Puts Our Families First

As your councilman for North Charleston City Council District 1, I will fight to make sure the rapid growth happening in our city works for the people who already live here — not against them. North Charleston is expanding quickly, and if we don’t manage that growth responsibly, longtime residents may be pushed out of the neighborhoods they helped build.

Right now, development is happening all around us — but too often it leaves everyday families behind. We see more traffic, rising rents, and new construction that doesn’t always reflect what our community actually needs. That’s not smart growth — and it’s not the future I want for District 1.

Managing Growth the Right Way

Growth is a sign of a thriving city, but it must match the needs and character of our neighborhoods. I will fight for planning that improves quality of life, keeps families rooted, and ensures neighbors are part of the conversation.

Growth should work with the community — not push it aside

Prioritizing Homeownership & Generational Wealth

Homeownership is the foundation of generational wealth. When families can buy homes, they build stability and economic security that can be passed down to their children.

I will fight to create real homeownership opportunities for working families — including homes priced for families earning 80–120% of the Area Median Income (AMI), and lower when possible.

Everyone who works hard should be able to buy a home and stay in the community they love.

Keeping Families in Their Communities

Too many homes are priced beyond the reach of local families — even those who have lived here for years. I will fight for policies that give residents real pathways to stay in their neighborhoods and build lasting roots.

This means creating housing that works for young families starting out, seniors looking to downsize, and everyone in between.

Why This Matters for District 1

  • Families deserve a fair chance to buy a home

  • Longtime residents shouldn’t be pushed out

  • Strong neighborhoods start with stable homeowners

  • Growth should strengthen — not overwhelm — our community

District 1 is defined by families who have been here for generations, neighbors who look out for one another, and communities proud to call this place home.

As your councilman for District 1, I will fight to manage growth responsibly and help build neighborhoods that families can afford — and be proud of.
